Christantus Uche Fuels Straightforward Palace Win at Shelbourne.
Even though embarking on their first-ever continental adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning very quickly. Without star players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually secures them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
A further victory in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to seal straight passage to the last 16, particularly following a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Moment
This match provided a platform for several Palace's lesser-used players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a well-taken finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second game in match.
The Shelbourne team that had finished their league season proved outmatched even for a largely second-string Palace outfit. The visitors were further weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.
Dominance Established from the Start
Despite torrential rain in Dublin, Palace quickly established dominance. A slick passing sequence in the 11th minute, sparked by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, let Nketiah to set up Uche for a simple tap-in.

The home side were clinging on desperately. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for a couple of robust challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the crossbar with a header from a corner.

The match was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the traveling side.
